Welcome back. I hope you all had a nice weekend. We're still suffering through hot, humid summer weather here.
I had a baby shower to go to on Saturday for a coworker. I wanted to do something a little girly, but still a little edgy. Here's what I wore:
Purple pleated blouse with flutter sleeves from Express (my annual birthday gift two years ago!) paired with dark boot cut jeans from the Gap and my Guess cork wedges that I bought on clearance back in the fall. I didn't wear a lot of jewelry since the shirt is already such a statement, just big silver hoop earrings.
The shower was fun. I saw a few friends from work and there were some cute games and Mexican food. The cake was adorable with a frosting baby sleeping on the top. I gave her hand made booties, knitted with pink yarn and tied with yellow ribbon. My family is fairly crafty and are big on homemade gifts, so I always try to make something myself when I need to give a gift.
After years of struggling to learn from family members with no success (I'm left-handed which didn't help!) I finally taught myself how as a summer project a few years ago using a book called Knitting Pretty. I have one big project each summer to make sure that I'm doing something productive and can have a sense of accomplishment at the end. This year my project is my blog!
What did you do this weekend?
Stay cool!
Amy
