Fashion Friday

Hey guys!

I sort of feel like I should call this "Flannel Friday" because of the two days that I remembered to take a photo of my outfit this week, I happened to be wearing a plaid shirt both times!  As someone who was becoming a teenager just as grunge was on its way out, I have a complicated love-hate relationship with flannel.

Throwback Thursday

Hey guys!

This week's Throwback Thursday picture was taken the summer after I graduated from high school.  I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Europe through a program called the Arizona Ambassadors of Music.  It's a state-wide group that takes a band and a choir on tour every other summer.  I auditioned for and won a seat in the flute section.  I worked a lot of hours at the old Mervyn's department store to pay for it, and my parents helped me out quite a bit as well.  We saw seven countries in sixteen days and performed in every one.  It was quite a whirlwind experience and I loved every minute of it!

What I Ate Wednesday

Hey guys!

I haven't done one of these in ages.  Between the chaos leading up to moving, dealing with EXTREME jet lag, and moving into our rental house in Germany, my eating habits were getting pretty sporadic.  Now that we are settled in, I'm working on getting back on track with healthy eating and I think that making What I Ate Wednesdays a regular thing will help me hold myself accountable.

YouTube Experiment!

Hey guys!

I am trying out publishing on YouTube.  Check out my Germany House Tour video here and let me know what you think!

Sunflower Surprise!

Hey guys!

I'm back after surviving an absolutely soul-crushing heat wave last week.  I know, I know:  it's strange to be complaining about the heat in GERMANY when coming from ARIZONA, but it turns out that there's something to all those, "But it's a DRY heat!" jokes that Arizonans make!  Another major difference here is that thanks to the lack of air conditioning, there's basically no escaping the heat. I wound up curtailing my workouts (I was starting to get really ill) and hiding in the basement with the dogs eating popsicles.

We were extremely grateful to welcome a storm system on Saturday night that brought sweet, sweet relief for both us and our very parched yard.  However that same storm system also ruined our Sunday plans to try out a German Renaissance festival and forced us to turn around mid-way there.  Even Hubby, who has driving nerves of steel, eventually decided that we should turn back!
