I finally did a better job of remembering to take pictures of my outfits this week!  With all of the interruptions and changes in our lives the past few months with the big move, I'd gotten really bad about taking outfit pictures.  Oops!  Here's what I managed to capture this week:

Grocery Haul

This week I went shopping at the Commissary on the Army Post for groceries.  It's mostly just like an ordinary American grocery store, but there are a few key differences.  Most importantly, I've learned that their stock changes a lot more than most grocery stores.  If I come across something that I haven't seem before, like a certain kind of cheese or frozen salmon, I buy it IMMEDIATELY.  There's no guarantee that they will ever have it again, and some items sell out in what seems like the blink of an eye.  Secondly, they accept expired coupons.  I thought they were crazy at first, hanging up all of these expired coupons next to items on the shelves.  It turns out that they ignore the expiration dates because most of the coupons are shipped over from the States and the delay means that they are often close to expiring once they arrive.  Lastly, I've learned to pay attention to the little white signs labeled Manager's Special, most of which are tucked away in corners and on end caps.  They don't do proper sales, but some of the Specials are insanely good.  I picked up two pounds of frozen, breaded tilapia for $3 a few weeks ago!  I took advantage of a few this week, too, which I'll talk about below.

So here's the continuation of the new teacher tips that I started last week.  I actually wrote all ten tips at the same time, but the post got super long really fast and I decided to split it in half.  Here are tips 6-10 that I wish I could go back and give myself when I was a first year teacher.  

Weekend Wrap Up: Car Show!

Germany came up with one more hot weekend for us here, so we elected to stick close to home this weekend.  Even though "hot" here is closer to 90 degrees than the 110 degrees that qualifies as hot back in Arizona, it really does feel worse here because of the lethal combination of high humidity and lack of air conditioning.  There's just no escape when its hot out!

We stocked up on water and hit a car show on Post that Hubby wanted to see.  It was a lot smaller than he was expecting, so he was kind of disappointed, but he still had a blast wandering around and talking shop with some of the car owners.

I am not very into cars.  At all.  I like that my car is a hybrid and is reliable.  Beyond that, I don't care that much.  However, I married a real car guy.  He gets super excited to see an old or expensive car on the road, loves NASCAR races on TV, misses his Camaro that is with his dad, and even used to work on the pit crew of a now-retired race car driver back in Arizona.  Even though I don't share his enthusiasm, I am a good sport whenever he wants to stand in a parking lot and admire a car.  Here are the pictures I took.
