Anniversary Trip to...

Hello, everyone!

My apologies for the prolonged radio silence.  I really need to start getting back into the habit of  posting regularly so that I don't have to start every entry with an apology.  This spring has been crazy-busy, and with all of the changes that have happened for us in the last year I really felt the need for some privacy to sort out some personal stuff.

But now I'm back and feeling super excited to connect with all of you again.   The school year is now over, and Hubby and I just got back from what is becoming an annual tradition: a trip to a new place to celebrate another year of marriage.  This year we are up to eight, which is completely crazy because it almost feels like we got married yesterday!

Last year, we spent a magical week in Paris to celebrate.  (You can read more about that trip here.)  This year, we decided to try a place that neither of us had ever been before....  Prague!

One of the really cool things about living in Bavaria right now is that we are actually surprisingly close to the border with the Czech Republic.  It took us a three hour drive to get there, plus some extra time to figure out a new SIM card for the phones and a toll road sticker at the boarder.  We also managed to get pretty lost in the city itself looking for the hotel, but we made it eventually!

Prague is the largest city in Czech and contains a rich history that we did our best to explore over the course of several days.  I'm a total nerd for those tour books that give you history, phrases, and daily plans.  Once we found the hotel, though, there was just enough time to explore the surrounding neighborhood and then subject a poor waitress to our badly mangled Czech at a nearby restaurant before we turned in to get an early start the next morning.

I thought I'd ordered a chicken Cesar salad, but this is what I got: bell peppers, melon, and grilled chicken tossed in something vaguely like Thousand Island dressing served with rosemary bread.  It was good, just very different from what I was expecting!

Stay tuned for our first full day in Prague.

Stay stylish, my lovelies!

Amy
